Nine feature films will advance to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category for the 87th Academy Awards. Eighty-three films had originally been considered in the category.
The films shortlisted are:

Leviathan, Russia; Andrey Zvyagintsev, director
Force Majeure, Sweden; Ruben stlund, director
The Liberator, Venezuela; Alberto Arvelo, director.
The 87th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 22, 2015.
Geethu Mohandas' Hindi film Liar's Dice starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Geetanjali Thapar was selected as India's official entry at the Oscars by a 12-member jury (appointed by director T Hariharan) over other Hindi films films Shahid, Queen, Mary Kom, Mardaani, 2 States and regional films Fandry (Marathi), Yellow (Marathi), Apur Pachali (Bengali), Jatishwar (Bengali).
